“Long Past Time” is James Reed’s first piece to be published by a national consumer magazine, but he’s placed many stories in literary magazines, including West Branch, The Gettysburg Review, Folio, and, most recently, Stand Magazine in England. Anthologies carrying his work include The Jazz Fiction Anthology (IU Press, 2009), The Workplace Anthology (workplaceanthology.com, 2008), and Tribute to Orpheus (Kearney Street Books, 2007). Reed has been honored with an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Nebraska Arts Council, the Charles B. Wood Award for Distinguished Writing from Carolina Quarterly, and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
