Rosemarie Ostler writes books and articles about language. Her new book is Founding Grammars: How Early America’s War over Words Shaped Today’s Language. She wrote "Noah Webster Would Have Loved Urban Dictionary" (published in the Jan/Feb 2016 issue) for What It Means to Be American, a national conversation hosted by the Smithsonian and Zócalo Public Square.
