Sarah Schiff earned her Ph.D. in American literature from Emory University but is a fugitive from higher education. She now writes fiction and teaches high school English in Atlanta. Her stories have appeared in Cleaver, Raleigh Review, J Journal, MonkeyBicycle, and Fiction Southeast, among others. One story has also been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. “Too Far from Shore” is excerpted from her novel-in-progress, As Though to Breathe Were Life.
