Valerie Fioravanti’s work has appeared in North American Review and Crab Orchard Review, among others. She has been nominated eight times for a Pushcart prize and has received one special mention. Her collection of Brooklyn stories, Garbage Night at the Opera, won the Chandra Prize for Short Fiction and is available from BkMk Press, and her story “Loud Love” won the inaugural Tillie Olsen Short Story Award in 2016.
