Lewis Tesser is a senior partner at Tesser, Ryan & Rochman, LLP, a New York City law firm. He is consistently designated a New York metro area “Super Lawyer.”
He is a past president of the New York County Lawyers’ Association, the Founder of its Ethics Institute, and the editor-in-chief of the Oxford University Press two volume treatise, The New York Rules of Professional Conduct. Lew is a former chair of the New York State Bar Association’s General Practice Section and a member of its House of Delegates. He currently chairs New York County’s Attorney-Client Fee Dispute Program.
Lew is a frequent lecturer on the topic of professional ethics and has taught lawyers at Fordham Law School, Brooklyn Law School, CUNY Law School, New York Law School, the New York County Lawyers’ Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association, and the Lille Bar Association, as well as at many other venues.
Lew served as Assistant United States Attorney, Eastern District of New York and as a captain and judge advocate in the United States Army. He is an honors graduate, National Law School of George Washington University and holds a master’s degree from The Wharton School, The University of Pennsylvania.
